Monday Musings: From Leavenworth, WA

I have lived in the state of Washington for almost eighteen years and whenever someone mentioned Leavenworth, I would say, “I really want to go there!” So a couple of months ago I got online and booked the hotel for Dec. 7th. Unfortunately, work schedules didn’t allow us to come up for the first weekend of lights and festivities, but we were able to catch the tail end.

What I found interesting was how many people said the same thing I did about wanting to go to Leavenworth, some of them having lived in Vancouver, WA all their lives! Our beautiful state has so much to see and do, and I am as guilty as the next person in not taking advantage of all our state has to offer.

Leavenworth, decorated for the Christmas season, seemed like the perfect place for me to celebrate the holiday season. Who else is as “dedicated” as I am, wearing Christmas clothing and jewelry every day in December?

Weekend Frolic: Santa Claus is Coming to Town

???????????????????????????????

This is the 5th year that Mikah will have his picture taken with Santa at the Realty Pro Holiday Arts & Crafts Event Saturday. This year Aria will meet Santa for the first time. She will be 6 months old that day so I think we may still be able to have a smiling picture this year.

All our family traditions, old and new, to enjoy in this holiday season: Advent calendars, Elf on the Shelf, Baking homemade goodies, and just spending time together.

May the magic of Christmas be with you and yours!

Thursday Thoughts on Real Estate: Congratulations to our new 2015 CCAR Board!

Tuesday night was the installation of our new Clark County Assn. of Realtors Board of Directors for 2015. Congratulations, and a big thank you to all past and present members for giving your time and dedication to the Association. Congratulations to all the award winners, as well. I love hearing about what these very special Realtors do for us and the community – that’s always my favorite part of the program.

Musings: Another Year Older and Hopefully, Wiser?

“You’ve gotta dance like there’s nobody watching,
Love like you’ll never be hurt,
Sing like there’s nobody listening,
And live like it’s heaven on earth.” -William W. Purkey

Or as I like to say, “Mo’ makule, mo’ pupule”! Hawaiian for “The older I get, the crazier I get”.

At one of my Honokaa class reunions, one classmate commented on how much more outgoing I am now compared to when I was in high school. It’s not that I am so different now. I am just more comfortable in my own skin. I don’t believe I am outrageous but I do enjoy “strobe dancing” every New Year’s Eve with my friends watching. And I’m thankful that I’ve been hurt in love, because I know that without feeling deep hurt, I could not feel real joy. Sing, you bet! This frog remembers lyrics and may be better off lip-syncing, but I love to sing. My grand children are my main audience and they love me singing, I think! And certainly I appreciate everyday I have to spend with loved ones – that’s what life is all about.

Older? Yes. Crazier? I don’t think so. Just enjoying life!
